HOW TO be a Successful Streamer 101 : The Basics

Hello, my dear readers,

if you’re here I guess there’s no need to make an introduction about what is Twitch and what is a live stream.

But, just in case, Twitch is a website similar to YouTube where you can watch people playing, eating, talking LIVE! Yes, right when you’re watching them! It’s so entertaining… I love it!

By the way, lately many people are switching from YouTube to Twitch because it’s easier to connect with the audience and get their instant feedback. What I like the most is that there’s no video editing! OMG! lol

But, if you’re here maybe you’re wondering,
How can I become a Successful Twitch Streamer?

 First of all, you should start by becoming a Streamer and it may sound easy, like “Just sign up and stream”… unfortunately, it’s not so easy but don’t despair! I’m here for you ^_~

First thing first!

Internet Connection

You don’t need to have the fastest connection in the world, of course!
Just enough to stream (at least) at 720p and make sure it’s stable. (I advise you to be connected via LAN… you should avoid the wi-fi connection!)

PC or Console?

 Captain Obvious here 😀 !

As a Gaming Streamer you can do it from a PC or/and a Console, using a game capture like Elgato HD 60.

Needless to say that your PC must be good enough to be able to let you stream with no lags or other issues! Check this Elgato on Amazon here!

Headset or Earphones 

To fully enjoy the games you’re going to play, of course, you’re advised to wear a headset or earphones. (I play Dead By Daylight and it’s impossible to play without hearing the game sounds!)

Videogames

If you’re a gaming streamer you need, of course, games to play. What should you choose? Start with what you like the most, “mainstream” games may help you gaining some followers at the beginning but it’s important for you to choose your niche.

But the most important tip is HAVE FUN and…

ENGAGE THE AUDIENCE!

Talk to your followers, reply to their questions and if they’re being quiet… keep talking about whatever comes to your mind! Silence is boring!
